February 1, 2022 Fire and Chaos

Everything was such a haze for Jimmy. He couldn’t remember the last time he could think clearly. What the hell was he doing in the back of the police car? When did it all go wrong for Jimmy?  He tried to think, but his brain kept scrambling everywhere. His thirtieth birthday was coming up and in his mind, the last ten years were a blur. How did he end up handcuffed in this stupid cop car anyway? Think, think, think. Read more…

January 31 2022 – The Prime Minister Responds – sort of…

“Almost ninety percent of Canadians are vaccinated.” So says the fearless leader of our great country, as he sits in isolation ‘working from home’. I caught a bit of his press conference today. My head is still spinning in confusion.  ‘Get vaccinated’ Trudeau says from isolation at an undisclosed location with his family – they all have covid19. What about the concerns around the vaccine? He was asked in the press conference. His answer to every question was the same: ‘Vaccines Read more…

I got sucked down the rabbit hole of facebook again. I hate it when that happens.  Why can’t people be respectful and not threatening? Why can it be so easy for people who called you a friend to turn around and call you an idiot because you don’t agree on something?  I am very close to deleting facebook from my world. It would be less time wasted, that’s for sure. But there are people in facebook land I like. It Read more…

January 29, 2022 Convoy To Ottawa

Last Sunday a group of truckers and some of their friends packed up from Vancouver and headed to Ottawa to confront the government about the vaccine mandate for truckers to cross the border. Even though they can’t cross into the USA without being vaccinated. Nothing makes sense these days. They weren’t happy and they didn’t want to be told what to do. Since then this convoy has morphed into something else. Something bigger. We are all so very tired of Read more…

Jan 24 2022 Good Bye Lance

Goodbye Lance. Exactly one month ago the world became a little smaller. Big White became a little darker. My friend and a Big White character lost his battle with the demons that haunted him over the years, Lance Rumble passed away from this earth. Lance was a man with a warm heart and a smile that lit the room. He did his best to share his spirit and spirits with those around him.  I began working with Lance over fifteen Read more…

January 21, 2022 Back To The Mountain

Barrman and his wife Kaydee scrambled to pack up and go. There was powder at Big White and the hill was calling them. It had been over three weeks since they’d rode the slopes of the mountain home and the snow report was promising. Big Boarder was headed up to the hill and they were anxious to meet him there. Barrman packed the skis in the car the night before and he was excited to get an early start. But Read more…

Mexico is a country of contrasts and contradictions. A country of beauty and decay, a place with untold wealth and poverty. On one roadway there are chickens running in the street and garbage strewn in the back yards. Half built walls crumble and dogs roam wild. There are areas that are indeed a third world country. Less than a mile away sit some of the wealthiest yachts on the planet. It is a place that people long to escape to. Read more…

January 14, 2022 Barrman Stays In Mexico

Barrman’s mind spun in confusion. How the hell did he contract the dreaded covid? In the back of his mind he knew it wasn’t all that surprising. But still what did he do to deserve it? Well, if he really thought about it the list was pretty long. Starting with the fact he should have stayed the hell away from the nightlife of Cabo San Lucas. None of that mattered now.  Now Barrman had to stay in Mexico and wait. Read more…

January 12, 2022 Sweet 16

A piercing cry shattered the silence, but it was a cry that held a mix of fear and joy. I came in the room and there you were. Balling, and squirming. The cry shook me and I didn’t know what to do.  So I held out my finger and you reached for it. You grabbed it and held on. In that instance you stopped the cacophony of sound. There was nothing but silence. A warmth enveloped me. You held on Read more…
