February 11, 2022 – Brad and Mike Live at Whiski-Jack’s
Acoustical rhythms lifted my heart and filled my soul with joy. Two musician sat on the stage at Whiski-Jack’s Pub in Westbank and their music filled the air. Brad Krauza and Mike Jervis played their acoustic guitars to a live audience who connected with the sounds of joy.
For the first time in almost two years Whiski-Jack’s Pub hosted live music.
It was amazing.
I felt my soul lift up with each song, as the two musicians played from the heart. The pub was full and we could feel everyone connect with the music and the passion.
It felt so good to be in a place that had live music to listen to. It felt like we were returning to a time when live music was a normal thing on a Firday night.
Then came the coronaverse.
Covid19 and the reactive restrictions put in place kiboshed live music. We were told it wasn’t safe to sing, dancing was forbidden and the safest thing to do was shelter in place.
And just stay home.
Now, live music was back, and the world is a brighter place.
Even though we still can’t dance, I danced inside.
Brad and Mike shared a connection with the people that sat listening to the music. It felt wonderful to be part of such a spiritual moment. A moment that saw these men strum and sing their hearts out.
And we all sat enthralled in the rhythm of the night.
Brad shared his story of covid and how sometimes in the darkest moments there can be a light that shines upon a person. Brad’s light is Kinga. The musician began a new journey in his life, a journey that continues to unfold.
Kinga Heming is a wonderful Jazz singer, together they sang the song Shallow from the movie A Star Is Born. They did an incredible rendition of the song and got over 77,000 hits on YouTube. It showed how music can connect people and the joy it can spread.
So in a moment of carefree joy Brad asked Kinga to join him and Mike on stage to sing. Her voice lifted the room and together we shared their joy.
Their love.
Love for each other and love for music. It was something that has been in short supply for the last two years. It is what the world needs more of.
It is the start of something wonderful and it is a renewal that we all have been seeking.
Every Friday going forward Whiski-Jack’s will be hosting live music.
It feels good.
I look forward to many more Friday nights of live music to fill our world and lift up our souls. I look forward to days when we can dance again.
