Fire

Published by Victor Barr on

Starting slowly, with proper ignition

Licking upward with red and yellow fingers

Warmer, faster it begins to consume

flames erupt in the right situation

She begins her dance of heat and consumption

More fuel needs to be added

In order to continue with the reactions

She grows, seeking continual resurrection

Faster, the reaction commits to the path of least resistance

Like a ballerina dancing, swirling

Higher, faster the reaction continues

adding more fuel, the flames grow higher without assistance

The blaze burns faster; creating and causing destruction

Without more fuel, the reaction stalls

Slowing to coals and glowing embers

yet fire will still burn with continued construction

Lower and slower the flames are gone

Embers glow inside the ring

Ashes forming, light is fading

Darkness complete; ashes, earth are one.
