April 5

Another Sunday, feels like there has been a lot of Sundays lately. Motivation comes in spurts, things to do, but its Sunday, and I want it to be a day of rest.  Yet I feel like I have already rested enough these past few weeks.

Motivation for a teenager is the ability to see her friend and go to Dairy Queen.  Arriving at DQ we get in line at the drive-through.  Walking through the drive-through is allowed so I let my daughter stand where the driver’s seat would be.  I do love our small town and the relaxed atmosphere, I imagine that in a big city walking through the drive-through is not permitted.  We laugh and enjoy the moment of it all and lunch is served.  People are out and about – we are definitely not in a state of full lockdown. Life almost feels normal, almost.

I wonder what life is like in Paris or New York. Some people on the internet claim it’s a hoax, hospitals in New York are empty?  Are these real or staged? It is hard to tell and conspiracy theories abound.  Here in our little corner of the world we strive for normal.  I can’t waste my energy worried about the DEEP STATE or other such theories that fly around the internet.  All I can control is what we experience in the here and now. My daughter, my wife, our friends; that’s what really matters and that’s what I will focus on.

I turn on the TV and our ancient Queen is there talking.  I feel inspired by her, ninety-three years old and she has lived through a lot including a world war.  With sincere emotion she sympathetically states we are in this together, and she is right.  There will be better days and we will see our friends again, our family again and life will return to normal.

I will spend more time on my family, myself, finding my creative self.  I hope the people of the world are doing the same. If we all connect with our true selves, our creative loving selves:  Tomorrow looks a whole lot brighter.
