What a week it has been.

I am going to need time off to recover from my holiday. That is the way it usually goes when I spend time on vacation.

Go go go.

What an amazing amount of memories we have created for my family. We spent too much time wandering the bar strip of Cabo and the beaches of the Baja. Ziplines and Camels. Music and laughter – it has been fun.

I just hope we don’t pay too high of a price for all our fun…

Today we started the last leg of our adventure. While we hear the news from home of all the the storms – snow and of the viral kind. We have enjoyed life living in a free country that seems so distant from all the turmoil of home. Yesterday we left the timeshare in Cabo San Lucas and the two bedroom place with our kitchen and our privacy. Now we are in an economical all inclusive resort on the beach of San Jose Del Cabo.

Today we went for our covid test so we can fly home. I couldn’t help but feel apprehension and fear when they jammed the cue tip into my brain. I sure hope that our foolish fun in the bar strip of Cabo didn’t result in a positive test. I feel pretty healthy but in my brain it rattles around – what if?…

At this point there is nothing I can do but wait.

And Hope.

It was worth the risk, I hope…

The food, the laughter and the connection has been one for the ages. A time that I would not have missed for the world. Would I do some things different? Sure… but we can’t live our life in the past, we can’t live with regret.

We went to the local part of Cabo and had a fantastic meal of tacos for less than five dollars. Then we sat on the beach and had a meal for over 100… The only difference was the view. Both places I felt safe, they had protocols in place to protect us from the spread of our viral foe.

Now we sit and wait the results of our covid tests.

I have a sniffle and it makes me wonder… what will we do if we test positive? We will cross that bridge when we come to it. No matter what happens my daughter had a sweet sixteen to celebrate for the ages, an adventure in the sun that we will never forget. For now we have one more day in the sun, one more day to chill by the pool and drink Margaritas and cervesas.

One more day. Then we will begin our journey home.

I hope…
